Brunching Out

The Sparkling Sunday brunch at LTITUDE, Genting Grand Hotel

Under the warmth of a salamander heater, the slab of Raclette slowly melts, generating a mouth-watering ooze of cheese that smells heavenly. Common in Switzerland, but unusual even in the capitals of South-East Asia, the melting Raclette is waiting to be scraped on a plate, or a piece of bread, or in this case, the warm enfolds of an omelette, part of the Classic English Breakfast in Skillet on the Sparkling Sunday brunch at LTITUDE, Genting Grand Hotel.

Helmed by Chef Mandy Goh, the Sunday brunch swaps quantity for quality; refined into over a dozen delicious dishes that still represent being spoilt for choice. Besides the aforementioned English Breakfast, the menu here runs from classic cold cuts – parma ham, iberico ham and chorizo – to hearty focaccia sandwiches, from waffles topped with caviar, salmon or duck rilletes to a delightful teriyaki scallop. Special mention also to the Baked Irish Oyster, Roast Lamb Cutlet in a White Coffee Sauce and a splendidly tender Smoked Iberico Spare Rib. Wash that all down with copious glasses of champagne, and finish the long Sunday afternoon off with fresh ice cream, made tableside with liquid nitrogen by the chefs.

The Sparkling Sunday Brunch runs every Sunday, from 11am to 4pm at LTITUDE, located within the Genting Club at Genting Grand Hotel. Prices are RM90 for brunch, RM420 for brunch with a bottle of Zonin Prosecco and RM588 for brunch with a bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne.
