St. Regis KL puts on its weekend best for Sunday Brunch at The Brasserie

easy like sunday mornings

A flute of Veuve Clicquot to start, or The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur’s Assam Boi Mary? And which will you wrench from its shell first: the flesh of an enormous Royal Alaskan king crab or a newly shucked Fine de Claire oyster? These are probably the hardest decisions you should ever have to make on a weekend, and there’s no better way to exercise your right to choose than during Sunday Brunch at The Brasserie.

Every Sunday from noon, avail yourself of the free-flow champagne, signature cocktails, and red and white wine on offer (from RM468 per person with alcoholic beverages) for three glorious hours, accompanied by a formidable brunch spread. Beside a farmers market-style seafood selection of shellfish, plus freshly smoked and cured salmon, the carving station boasts a fish and poultry dish on rotation, ensuring you’ll hardly go hungry.

The Brasserie’s assortment of imported cheeses – taste-tested by the General Manager, Samuel Wong, himself – deserves considerable praise for its variety and impeccable quality. It’s almost impossible not to throw caution to the wind and gorge on as many silken wedges of Saint-Nectaire as you can manage, or if the mood takes you, a feistier Roquefort AOP Papillon.

Then again, spare some thought for the a la carte specials, such as asparagus risotto, eggs Florentine, and foie gras terrine – all cooked to order and delivered piping hot to the table. Those with an ounce of space left are advised to seek out the dessert bar’s homemade cinnamon churros, which also happen to be surrounded by magnum fudge brownies and pastel-coloured macarons. Now this is a Sunday kind of love we can all hold on to, surely.
