On board Malaysia Airlines flights, the winning Malaysian hospitality is extended to all passengers, providing a friendly welcome to the country at 30,000 feet. With its latest A350-900 aircraft plying the twice-daily Kuala Lumpur to London route, the airline looks to gain a greater following with its timeless brand of hospitality from the heart.

The A350-900 is a marvel of engineering, crafted for comfort. It comprises 296 seats, 35 of which are part of a stellar business class offering. These include inflatable Thompson Aero Seating Vantage seats featuring a 44-inch pitch and a fully flat bed, as well as a 16-inch entertainment screen.

Calibrated in alternating 1-2-1 and 1-2-2 arrangements, the innovative seating specs make the most of cabin space. Higher ceilings, larger windows and ambient LED lighting in the new aircraft dramatically enhances the inflight experience – all of which is highly welcomed elements on a 13-hour journey. The lighting system, which offers a spectrum of 16.7 million colours, also simulate scenarios to reduce the effect of jetlag. Full connectivity through WiFi and GSM is augmented by a fourth generation in-flight entertainment system. From an environmental standpoint, the Trent XWB engines lowers fuel burn by 25 per cent when compared with the previous generation aircraft, thereby reducing emissions.

The Malaysia Airlines A350 experience begins with a visit to the newly renovated Satellite Golden Lounge. A sleek exposition of Malaysia’s multicultural heritage, the 4,000 square metre space is all about the country’s diverse cultures from Peranakan objets d’art to quaint tiles resembling those found in the heritage shophouses of Penang and Malacca. Pop by the Laksa Bar which serves a revolving selection of Malaysia’s best-loved soup noodles, ranging from spicy laksa Johor to tasty wontons.

The Satellite Golden Lounge is also equipped with shower and restroom facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi and an abundance of USB points and universal power sockets – must-haves for travellers before or after long flights.  Grab a drink at the Sports Bar or take a well-deserved rest in the Nap Area. The recently refreshed lounge is equipped to cater for up to 330 guests in the business class section, while the first class area can host 125 guests.

On board, the crew presents a winning medley of Malaysian cuisine and international specialities. Meal service for begins with the airline’s standout chicken and beef satay with its signature rich peanut sauce. Passengers are also avail to the Chef-on-Call service, where pre-order meals are offered such as the Mediterranean-flavoured braised lamb shank, a chunk of meaty goodness seared with pesto, plated with a horseradish mash and tomato. Or the ayam masak merak – braised chicken in sweet tomato sauce, accompanied by ghee rice and pan-fried vegetables spiced with turmeric and mustard seed.

A list of other delicious selections including braised beef ribs, and Oriental cod with rice, complete the bespoke inflight dining experience. For passengers wishing to enjoy their meals with a glass or two of fine wine or spirits, a range of premium alcoholic beverages is also available. So all you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the best of Malaysian hospitality.
