Around the World With Robb Report
Around the World with Robb Report, which will span more than three weeks from October 13 through November 4, 2016, is a global experience crafted specifically for you, the Robb Report reader, by our editorial staff. From our festive send-off in Hawaii to this fitting finale in California, we invite you to join us on the ultimate Robb Report adventure.
Fifty two fortunate travellers will embark on a one-of-a-kind journey that circumnavigates the globe by private jet, visiting eight storied destinations and staying at some of the world’s most exceptional hotels along the way. The distinguished group of passengers will travel in a custom-designed Boeing 757-200ER outfitted with only 52 VIP seats, each a personal haven that promises the utmost in luxury and comfort. Curated by the editors of Robb Report and operated by TCS World Travel, this exclusive expedition has never been done before and will never be repeated.
The opening chapter of the journey begins with a barefoot plunge into soft white sands at the bewitching Vomo Island Resort. This plush, 225-acre, 28-villa jewel is situated at the northern tip of Fiji’s volcanic Mamanuca Islands, a setting so private it can be reached only by helicopter, seaplane, or speedboat. Fiji is where you sit back, relax, and unwind in preparation for the life-changing adventure ahead.
Start in Melbourne, the culinary capital of Australia. For two days and two nights, you will be seduced by the pleasures of the palate, with an array of choices ranging from exclusive wine and black-truffle tastings to multicourse menus at some of the country’s - and the world’s - top restaurants.
Head to the lush mountains of Ubud on the island of Bali, where the group will take over the Robb Report Best of the Best spa resort Como Shambhala Estate for three days of blissful wellness. The combination of wellness and culture - with an optional dose of adventure - should be just what the doctor ordered.
Explore the tropical beaches, tranquil lagoons, fragrant teahouses, and historic sites of Sri Lanka’s southern tip, where your base will be another Robb Report Best of the Best resort - the Cape Weligama and its cliff-top perch near the 16th-century walled city of Galle.
Wheels down at Singita Grumeti, which is, simply put, the world’s ultimate luxury safari destination. The sprawling private reserve covers an area larger than the city of Los Angeles and shares an unfenced 205km border with Serengeti National Park. This location affords spectacular encounters with wildlife that includes lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and zebras.
From the plains of the Serengeti to the medina of Marrakech, you will now embark on a mesmerizing multisensory journey that delves into the vibrant arts and crafts, intricate Moorish architecture, fine fragrances, sweet and savoury delicacies, and rich culture of the fortified Moroccan city. The hotel’s private access to the medina opens to the maze of winding alleys and sprawling squares that houses Marrakech’s famed souks, where artisans and vendors sell everything from fine jewellery and handmade rugs to antique daggers and exotic spices.
After the stimulating stop in Morocco, you will draw easefully into the serene, sparkling blue waters of Bermuda. The island territory is playing host to the 35th America’s Cup - the crown jewel of international sailing - just months after Robb Report’s visit, and your group will enjoy exclusive opportunities to witness the professional teams in action. Yachts will also be on hand for exploring Bermuda’s coastline, after which you can retire to the island’s premier resort.
