A evening of aged whisky
Robb Report Malaysia, in partnership with Royal Salute, recently hosted select readers to a dinner that combined elements of power and grace, namely in aged Scotch and the sport of kings. In attendance was UK polo star and Royal Salute World Polo Ambassador Malcolm Borwick.
Guests turned up at the Smokehouse of the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur for pre-dinner drinks before sitting down for dinner at the adjacent Orchid Conservatory. Here, they were regaled with stories of polo, fine aged Scotch and a menu comprised snow crab of appetisers, and mains of roasted lamb rack, beef rossini and lobster tail.
Throughout dinner, guests were taken through a journey of Royal Salute, with drams of the 21-Year-Old, 38-Year-Old Stone of Destiny and Royal Salute 62 Gun Salute. The last drink of the trio required the combined efforts of four Master Blenders since 1953, utilising whisky stocks with a minimum aging of at least 40 years in its creation.
