Greek Island wonder
Carved into a cliff on the Greek island of Santorini, just above the volcanic caldera crater, the iconic Grace Santorini hotel features all-white interiors and concrete floors reminiscent of traditional Greek homes. Each of its 21 rooms has ocean views and a network of zigzagging paths lead to the property’s infinity-edge pool.
Now following a multi-million-dollar renovation, the property is even more stunning than before. Refurbished rooms and suites feature bars with cocktail-making kits; handcrafted furniture and artwork; and bathrooms with double vanity units, marble-carved basins, and walk-in rain showers with mosaic walls.
There is also a new lounge and bar overlooking the Caldera of Santorini; a new chef overseeing the Mediterranean-influenced menu at the on-site restaurant, Santoro; a new Pilates and yoga studio offering private sessions and several complimentary group classes; and a new health and wellness program that uses Apivita products, which are extracted from organic essential oils, pure honey, and plants. Treatments include a wine elixir facial, a traditional Greek olive oil massage, and outdoor sunrise yoga.
Next year, two new suites outfitted with private plunge pools and terraces will open, as well as a new full-service spa. The hotel is open for the season until November 1, and current room rates start at around US$675 (RM2,720) per night.
