From ink to clink
“Given that the (Hennessy) House is more than 250 years old, you could say that Hennessy is the oldest personality I’ve ever tattooed,” says American tattoo artist Scott Campbell on his collaboration with Hennessy. The fruit of that collaboration is the limited edition Very Special, where Campbell has reinterpreted elements of Hennessy V.S’s visual branding into an ode to freedom. Inspired by James Hennessy’s personal penmanship, the design is anchored to the pair of silver-and-black wings – a universal symbol of freedom and travel – accompanied by the three stars of Hennessy V.S. The quote ‘Love without Hesitation’ is emblazoned on the back label. It feels mythical and monolithic, a tribute to the power of dreams and travel.
The Hennessy V.S Limited Edition Deluxe Set features a numbered flask with a leather sleeve, a sketchbook of designs of Scott Campbell and a keepsake booklet with a behind-the-scenes look at the collaboration. Available now for US$150 (RM595).
