one in a mille
The all new flagship outpost of the Richard Mille manufacture can be found at the ground floor of The Arcade, an upmarket shopping gallery which shares an iconic building with Taipei’s Mandarin Oriental hotel — a stone’s throw from Taipei Arena.
Channelling the maverick spirit of Richard Mille into the 261 square meter space was the manufacture’s art director, Mélanie Treton-Monceyron. Working heavily with a black theme, stark contrasts with translucent elements lend a contemporary ambience juxtaposed against the hotel’s ornate atmosphere.
At the heart of the boutique stands a proud nod to a timepiece past, a glass monument of the classic RM 033. Sculpted in four layers of tempered glass, its filters and beams light throughout the boutique and across the 45 showcases.
For this who wish to revel in the setting while appreciating their next Richard Mille acquisition, a bar top allows convivial enjoyment of over 100 teas, 100 cigars and 200 vintages of wine in cabinets reaching three meters into the ceiling.
