Gübelin and Roger Dubuis team up to create the Velvet Paraiba

the deepest sea

Only eight white gold Velvet Paraiba watches (price upon application) exist in this world, and you’ll have to travel to Swiss jeweller Gübelin’s Lucerne and Geneva boutiques to find them. No matter. Once you lay eyes on the Velvet Paraiba’s mother-of-pearl face with diamond-set ornaments and the 46 round Paraiba tourmalines set into its lunette, you’d happily dive to the deepest ocean trench for one.

The timepiece – the fruit of an exclusive collaboration between Gübelin and Roger Dubuis – echoes the former’s Grace of the Sea Anemone jewellery collection, which also features flowing, tentacle-like organic shapes and Paraiba tourmalines. Inner workings from the Roger Dubuis manufacture complete each watch, along with 212 diamonds totalling 1.05 carats and capped with a 0.15-carat cabochon-cut Paraiba tourmaline set into the crown.
