prize-winning time
Parmigiani Fleurier has a reason to strut. In November, at the 2017 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve — the Oscars of horology, if you will — the Swiss watchmaking house walked away with two prestigious awards: in the Chronograph category, the Tonda Chronor Anniversaire took the top spot, and in the Travel Time category, the Fleurier Toric Hemispheres Retrograde did the same.
Malaysian watch aficionados admired these two pieces at a recent exclusive viewing at The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur, at an event organised by Hour Glass Malaysia. The star of the evening, however, was the Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronometre, making its debut in the country. It is a watch that bears the refinement and finishing that one would expect of the exclusive watchmaker, and has a curious tie to Malaysia — the inspiration for the shape of the case came when Michel Parmigiani himself saw a seashell on a Malaysian beach.
