Jazzing up the weekend
What do jazz and Sunday brunch have in common? A lot actually, if you’re at The St Regis Kuala Lumpur. Good food and good music may be enough to make a great Sunday, but throw in free-flowing champagne and Assam Boi Mary, and you have a winner for the weekend. With its floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lush Lake Gardens, The Brasserie on Level Two has once again upped its game with its newly-launched Sunday Jazz Brunch.
The brunch is the brainchild of Chef de Cuisine Alain Rion and inspired is by the freshest of French market food. Tuck into delectable offerings at the seafood bar like the Royal Alaskan King Crab, Canadian lobsters and freshly-shucked Cadoret oysters. If that’s not enough, a selection of smoked and cured salmon, seared tuna and caviar delicatessen lie in wait. Pair these ‘fruits of the sea’ with a flute of Veuve Clicquot or a fresh yuzu and gin tonic, and voila – ç’est la belle vie!
From noon to three o’clock, you’ll be transported to the golden Jazz Age as you brunch to the tunes of Louis Armstrong, Nina Simone and Michel Petrucciani by a live jazz band playing a weekly playlist inspired by General Manager, Samuel Wong. Feast on creamy burrata salad paired with heirloom tomatoes, braised beef cheeks and pan-seared foie gras served atop fluffy toasted brioche. Or dine on homemade pasta and a la carte signature dishes like the Burrata Ice Cream, Croque-Monsieur and Lamb Merguez.
That French flavour shines brilliantly with its cheese bar featuring an array of imported delicacies such as Chaource, Crottin de Chèvre, Brillat-Savarin, Comté and Tomme blanche. A range of exquisite desserts will help you polish off your brunch, with selections of Noir Manjari Valrhona chocolate tart, Jivara chocolate mousse shutter and mini crème caramels.
