The Piaget Manchette Extremely Piaget secret cuff watch

Cuff crafting

Cuffs have been a signature of Piaget’s high jewellery line-up for decades. That tradition continues in the more recent Manchette collection – ‘manchette’ is French for cuff, by the way – which was on display for several weeks in March at the Piaget boutique in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. It is a refined and stylish assemblage of white and yellow gold accessories, offset by colourful gems and stones. The blues of sapphire and lapis lazuli and the greens of emerald and tourmaline prevail alongside sparkling diamonds.

The piece that most exemplifies Piaget must be the Extremely Piaget secret cuff watch (RM890,000). Fashioned out of 18k white gold and set with 601 brilliant-cut diamonds, its capstone is a 15.65-carat hand-worked amethyst that conceals a dainty watch and the in-house 56P quartz movement within. It is here that the maison’s exquisite mastery of gem setting, engraving and watchmaking come together.
