fast, ferocious and fancy
Clocking six minutes and 47.3 seconds on the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS (from RM2.9 million) is the fastest road-legal car to hold the record. This is no surprise as it’s loaded with the marque’s latest bells and whistles in motorsports technology — making it the fastest 911 ever produced.
As standard, the 911 GT2 RS is kitted out with carbon ceramic brakes and a titanium exhaust system for greater weight reduction, and sports aggressive aero enhancements to return sterling dynamics and at the wheel precision. Under the hood, it’s powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo power plant that outputs a monstrous 700bhp and 750Nm.
If that’s not enough, serious aficionados can opt for the Weissach package (an additional RM138,000) to trim another 30kg off its 1470kg total kerb weight by swapping the standard alloy wheels to magnesium-based units, a carbon-fibre roof and anti-roll bars. All of these enhancements contribute to its stonking century sprint time of just 2.8 seconds.
