you’ll Feel like A Fighter Jet Pilot
The workman-like functionality of aircraft instrumentation remains an endless source of fascination for Bell & Ross. A new timepiece, the BR 03-92 Bi-Compass (RM16,000), is limited 999 examples and reflects its navigational inspiration with a triangle hour marker mounted on a rotating disc. It seems like a simple indication, but discs can be tricky to implement — they need to be engineered carefully to remain perfectly parallel and not deform over the life of the watch. The dial has an additional layer of depth, thanks to its stepped construction highlighted by the minute markers, and the two-colour lume ensures great legibility and a bit of visual spectacle in low-light conditions. The glow will stand out brightly against matt black dial and ceramic case, the latter being a shaped in the iconic Bell & Ross square and measuring 42mm across.
