With the Mid-Autumn Festival right around the corner, confectioneries, restaurants and hotels have started offering their unique and diverse range to these festive delicacies. From the old-school baked shells to delicate snow skins, we have got you covered.
The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur
The hotel is celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with their Classic Trunk and a limited-edition Swarovski Super Mooncake Trunk, the latter being the first of its kind. Each year, the mooncake trunks take inspiration from the Astor family’s love for travel and this time, The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur pays homage to their founder John Jacob Astor IV. Each classic trunk holds four to eight mooncakes—white lotus seed paste with a single yolk in the centre—in an elegantly encased faux-leather trunk ornamented with rose gold studs and clasp. Meanwhile, their signature 6.5 inch super mooncake with eight yolks is held in each Swarovski Super Mooncake Trunk embellished with 307 finely selected Silk and Shimmer Swarovski crystals.
The Classic Trunk is set to retail at RM200 for four pieces and RM338 for eight while the Swarovski Super Mooncake Trunk is available for RM438. Also on offer is a luxurious getaway at their John Jacob Astor Suite inclusive of breakfast, a five-course dinner at The Brasserie for two, and one of each Classic Mooncake Trunk and Limited Edition Swarovski Super Mooncake Trunk as a cherry on top. Priced from MYR11, 888 a night, bookings are open from now to 21 September 2021.
