On a recent Saturday night in December, the roar of Ferraris filled the driveway at Spark Club KL, the city’s newest dance club. Welcoming the members of the Ferrari Owners’ Club Malaysia (FOCM) was a sleek and beautiful new Ferrari 296 GTS, a mid-rear-engined two-seater berlinetta spider. Inside Spark Club KL, the approximately 200-strong turnout of guests were serenaded by Christmas carols from Lollapalooza Singers, and regaled by videos of the various FOCM drives conducted throughout the year, such as in Melaka, Penang and Pahang.
On the mezzanine floor of Spark KL, FOCM members discovered a sartorial space dedicated to Italian luxury lifestyle brand Stefano Ricci, showcasing its range of jackets, exotic skin footwear, fragrances and a blinged-out diamond belt. Here, members gamely styled themselves in various outfits in hopes of walking away with prizes for the best-dressed competition.
Out on the dance floor, the party started heating up with Perrier-Jouet champagne, Royal Salute scotch whiskies and Monkey 47 gin and tonics. Also on the dance floor were two choice number plates by FOCM’s co-marketing partner Metacode – MY1 and CK1. The number plate specialists Metacode offered members an opportunity to discover their favourite numbers, a fitting accessory to their Prancing Horses.
Spirits were high from a continuous dance track and the reunion of friends and members who made the trip from all corners of Malaysia to participate in this year-end celebration. Soon enough, one of the evening’s other highlights arrived – the high-energy Clase Azul ritual by a group of glittery dancers. To the beats of the DJ, the troupe displayed the artisan-inspired and hand-drawn ceramic decanter of Clase Azul. Members would then have an opportunity to savour its contents of ultra-premium reposado, made with slow-cooked 100 per cent Blue Weber Agave with its aromas of vanilla, candied orange peel and banana, as well as flavours of hazelnuts, cloves, cinnamon and a subtle agave syrup. The night would arrive at its zenith when the DJ took to the stage to play a string of dance hits, to keep the crowd on their feet and moving to the beats all night long.
