Back in 2018, Dior first began selling a beach collection at a pop-up store in Mykonos. Now, following its multifaceted and multi-location successes at various pop-up iterations over the years, the concept will be grandly unveiled all across the world, from Cyprus to Bali via Como and Beverly Hills. Here in Malaysia, the House of Dior heads to the beautiful beachfront of the Kerry Hill-designed One&Only Desaru Coast. Here, guests will discover this season’s Dioriviera summer capsule by the maison’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri—a pastel fantasy of ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes and accessories.
The Dioriviera pop-up at the resort’s Ember Restaurant & Beach Club takes place from 13 June till 6 August, with the House of Dior transforming the modish location with accents to recall long summer days. Guests will encounter the Dioriviera capsule collection as it mirrors the unbridled happiness associated with the promise of endless sun, sea and surf. For Dior’s fundamental toile de Jouy, the signature pattern is re-imagined in a palette of soft shades of pink, cream and blue. One will also be able to spot the inclusion of an animal menagerie, tigers, monkeys and reptiles on the newly revealed toile de Jouy sauvage on scarves, bags and footwear. Meanwhile, an adjacent collection of marinieres (striped sweaters) and straw hats complete the Mediterranean elegance of the Dioriviera capsule collection.
At the pop-up store, which is open daily from 10am till 8pm, the theme of summer essentials flow into the yoga mats, surfboards, parasol and beach games on offer, as well as decorative objects, tableware, placemats and embroidered cushions. An adjacent Dior Café (open from 10.30am to 9pm) will provide extra culinary interest with bites conceived in the spirit of the Dioriviera capsule collection.
From Montecito to Sanya and Osaka, the Dioriviera collection and pop-up locations have charmed the world over. Now, at the One&Only Desaru Coast’s Ember Restaurant and Beach Club, fashionistas in the region will be able to participate in the enduring Dior dream of celebrating a fantastical world of travel. And in the updated Dioriviera capsule collection, the same can be said for those looking to share Chiuri’s vision of style, in which themes close to her heart meet sun-kissed beaches and opulent resorts around the world, including, this time around, Malaysia’s One&Only Desaru Coast.
