Located on the 11th floor of W Kuala Lumpur, YEN is the perfect spot to savour a serene dim sum brunch—a tranquil contrast from the usual bustling din of dim sum spots. Here, expect signature classics along with a unique selection of innovated dishes, where traditional flavours are redefined with a touch of modernity.
YEN’s dim sum brunches are offered every weekend and on public holidays (RM168 nett per adult and RM84 per child) from 11.00am to 2.30pm. Begin your indulgence with a portion of six-head abalone, before diving into a delightful array of steamed dim sum options. Among the most popular picks are the classic prawn and chicken siew mai, and braised phoenix claws with abalone sauce. Another highly recommended option is the crystal prawn dumpling. Wrapped with morel mushrooms, the dumplings are infused with a distinct nutty flavour that is a welcome surprise. Of course, you can’t go wrong with the honey barbecue chicken buns. Crafted to resemble little mushrooms, these buns certainly have the Instagram factor.
YEN also offers some tantalising options from its fried dim sum selection: the crispy cod fillet roll is a crowd-favourite, especially among kids, while the crispy lobster and seafood bean curd roll presents a gourmet twist on the classic fried shrimp roll, surpassing its predecessor with its sweeter flavour and more succulent texture.
Desserts are definitely not to be missed here. The truffle milk-pudding is an absolute must-try: the earthy notes of truffle, combined with the creamy sweetness of milk pudding, adds a complexity to the dish that is utterly irresistible. It’s a pleasant conclusion to the meal, though it will leave you eager to return for more.
