Pernod Ricard Malaysia Invites You To The Tour De Gourmet Dining Experience

Curated by Pernod Ricard Malaysia, Tour de Gourmet is set to offer guests a luxury in culinary experience and hospitality. Those with a penchant for gastronomic pairings can savour beverages from Perrier-Jouët, Martell, Royal Salute, and Chivas Regal’s Ultra-Prestige collection, while dining at Japanese and continental fine-dining restaurants. Furthermore, all guests will be chauffeured to and from the location in a Mercedes-Benz and, upon the launching of Tour de Gourmet, Robb Report Malaysia was one of the first to embark on the adventure.

I am greeted at my doorstep by the Mercedes-Benz EQS 500 4MATIC. Waiting inside is the prestigious Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut, a sparkling bottle of goodness that opens with a floral note leading to aromas of pineapple, apple and pear, making the ride to our destination a relaxing one. The champagne is accompanied by a platter of artisanal cheese, delectable nuts, and exquisite strawberries and blueberries.

Upon arrival at Platinum Park, I am greeted by the good people of Curate Group, who usher me to a hidden bar that serves delightful cocktails. I’m whisked off to Sushi Ryu next, where I am greeted with a geisha performance while I sink my teeth into the Ryu Signature White Fish with truffle caviar. The appetising sushi is accompanied by Martell Cordon Bleu, which has a fruity and spicy aroma that blends perfectly with the sushi’s delectable notes.

Two more appetisers make their way to my table—the King Crab Muzuku and Hirame, both served with Martell Chanteloup XXO. The cognac opens with the colourful aromas of almonds, walnuts, peach, apricot, fig, and the sweetness of honey. The intense perfumes enhance the favours of the sweet yet nutty king crab and Hirame.

After the fresh sushi, I’m ready for Wagyu Kappo, another outlet by Curate Group. Dinner begins with a taiko drumming troupe, a haka performance, and a table with Royal Salute’s 21-year-old whiskies. There’s the Signature Blend, The Blended Grain and The Malts Blend, curated to pair with the Beef Consommé, True Foie Gras Risotto, and Yaeyame Kyori Wagyu. Royal Salute’s notes of vanilla, dry oak, and sherry fuse perfectly with the beefy dishes.

Then, I make my way downstairs to a surprise stop, the Park Grill, which transports me back to the 1920s Gatsby era with nostalgic jazz music and dance performances. This time, Chivas Regal waits at my table alongside a soft, buttery-textured Tomahawk steak. The dried fruits, buttery toffee, and dark chocolate notes of Chivas 18 balance out the rich and robust taste of the Tomahawk, and it’s a blend of aromas that’s completely new to my taste buds. We end the night with a pairing of Chivas Ultis 20, where notes of citrus, spice and malt complement the delicate flavours of the Spanish Octopus and the sweetness of the Pain Perdu.

From the delightful hospitality offered by Pernod Ricard Malaysia, Mercedes-Benz, and Curate Group, Tour de Gourmet is truly a one-of-a-kind adventure, and holds a price tag of RM72,000 for 12 persons, ensuring guests a truly unique dining experience. Besides, there’s no fuss about driving, as all guests will be chauffeured to the location and back by Mercedes-Benz.
