On a bright Saturday afternoon at the Sunway Pyramid shopping and entertainment mall, the unmistakable rumble and screech of Lamborghini’s iconic V10s filled the air. Among the fleet were the Huracan STO, Performante, Evo AWD, Huracan Tecnica, and the latest and last iteration of its pure internal combustion engine model, the Sterrato, with its all-terrain upgrades. This mechanical symphony was then allied with the monstrous howl of the V12s in the Aventadors that arrived in the guise of an Aventador LP700, S Roadster, SV, SVJ, and SVJ Roadster. Bringing up the rear were a trio of Lamborghini Urus in classic yellow.
From the starting grid of Sunway Pyramid mall, the convoy of bulls made a run towards its first pit stop, the MyKasih Foundation at Menara Dialog. The reason for this was to officially deliver RM100,000 of cash aid from a year-long fund-raising and charity initiative that began with the Chinese New Year dinner by the Lamborghini Community Malaysia (LCM). As the convoy rumbled into the MyKasih Foundation, its Deputy Chairman Jeffrey Perera welcomed all LCM members and spoke of the foundation’s commitment to channel every single sen of contributions towards the needy via the its proprietary cashless delivery system using MyKad.
Soon, the convoy would then take to the road again, making their way from the highways into inner Kuala Lumpur city that resulted in plenty of onlookers reaching for their mobile devices to record this high-octane running of the bulls. Pulling into Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, the convoy posed for photos and headed towards a specially arranged cocktail reception at the Tod’s boutique. Here, LCM members were privy to a showcase of a unique collection specially arranged from Milan—the Tod’s for Automobili Lamborghini range, which celebrates the partnership behind two Italian luxury powerhouses. From its iconic Gommino to sneakers, each pair from this collection bears testament to the handcraftsmanship, quality of material, and attention to performance detail that has earned Tod’s its global renown.
The evening then proceeded to The Crescent, at Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur, where LCM President Andy Cheeng welcomed all LCM members, partners and donors. A four-course meal was paired with wines by Lambo Cellar, the exclusive distributor of Champagne Carbon, a global partner to Lamborghini. Guests would then witness the handing over of another RM100,000 mock cheque, this time to Teach For Malaysia, an organisation that addresses education inequity, and partners with the Ministry of Education and the Global Education Network.
As the night reached its climax, a slew of lucky draw items was also presented by the many partners and sponsors of this 2024 fund-raising and charity drive effort, including Bridgestone, the technical partner of Lamborghini; official timepiece partner Roger Dubuis; Tod’s; and Sonus Faber, who provide the in-car automotive audio systems on a range of Lamborghini models.
