Breezes blowing in from the South China Sea heralded the start of Robb Report Malaysia’s House of Robb, an interactive pop-up and luxury oasis in collaboration with AHAM Asset Management Berhad (AHAM Capital) and its Generational Wealth Summit. Among the speakers at the summit were Pierre Pang, group executive director of Mamee-Double Decker; Chen Tien Yue, executive director and fourth-generation of Royal Selangor; and Nicholas Lim Pinn Yang, co-founder of Good Foodie Media.

On a Friday evening and following the talks, participants of AHAM Capital’s Generational Wealth Summit were welcomed to the House of Robb, which took place within a four-bedroom duplex villa spanning 6,400 sq ft by Anantara Desaru Coast Residences, in which the atmosphere of Robb Report Malaysia was brought to life. Upon entering the residence, they were welcomed by Dolce&Gabbana’s high jewellery Alta Gioielleria and Alta Sartoria bespoke menswear highlights, spread across the living space with sea-fronting views.

In the living room, flutes of Telmont champagne flowed freely, with Ziling Lim, the Malaysian private client director, sharing sustainability cues that Maison Telmont observes in its entire process, from viticulture to eschewing the use of packaging. The evening also offered tastings of the newly launched Bruichladdich 18-Year-Old, combining the unpeated Islay Scotch’s classic minerality with a floral bouquet, by virtue of its unique maturation in ex-bourbon and a small number of wine casks.

Downstairs, guests discovered the sensational aural ambience provided by sound solution specialist K-array, with its range of speakers and woofers producing a crystalline sound from the guitar instrumentalist, and pumping it up for DJ Jin by the infinity pool. Also on display from Nextrend Systems, the Malaysian distributor for K-array, was Brionvega Totem, a design by Italian architect Mario Bellini, unchanged from 1971, and now offering stereo, radio and turntable options with geometric pleasure.

In addition to interacting with unique brand activations, the guests were also offered a viewing of the adjacent residences at Anantara Desaru Coast Residences, with its contemporary architecture and interiors eliciting positive feedback. With the resort situated along the shores of the South China Sea and as part of the master-planned Desaru Coast, the idea of a family and friends’ getaway, with enough space under one roof, was a beguiling one indeed. And as the night stars twinkled in the sky, the guests would bid farewell to the House of Robb, capping off a night filled with camaraderie and learning.
