Glenfiddich’s Limited-Edition Chinese New Year Collection Makes An Opulent Gift to Foster Relationships & Elevate Reunions This 2025

Glenfiddich’s is partnering with artist Zhang Yu for the festive season with a highly collectible packaging, perfect for gifting.

The majestic stag intertwines with the Nine-Coloured Deer, creating a masterpiece of cultural fusion.

The tradition of gifting during Chinese New Year is deeply rooted in Chinese history and culture, evolving over thousands of years. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the practice of giving more luxurious gifts, such as tea and silk, became more formalised among affluent families. For a modernised yet opulent gift, presenting the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, Glenfiddich, for Chinese New Year is a gesture of respect, gratitude and prestige, perfectly suited for celebrating the season of abundance and renewal.

Its rich heritage, which began in 1887, and craftsmanship of time-honoured methods from the glen of the River Fiddich, align with traditional Chinese values of patience and longevity, making it a meaningful symbol of good fortune and success for the year ahead.

Glenfiddich’s distinguishing mark is its majestic stag icon inspired by its distillery, located in a valley where deer sightings are common, leading to the brand’s Gaelic name, which means ‘Valley of the Deer’. For the 2025 Lunar New Year, its logo, derived from a classic painting by Sir Edwin Landseer titled The Monarch of the Glen, has been given a new twist in limited edition packaging.

For the collection, the stag appears almost mythical, with swirling patterns and abstract brush strokes, combining a sense of tradition with contemporary artistry. The stately creature meets the legendary Nine-Coloured Deer (九色鹿), a popular subject in Chinese art, literature and films, both symbolising heritage, wisdom and harmony. For discerning individuals, Glenfiddich acts as a sophisticated gift to bridge traditions and bring people together.

Each of these exquisite gift packs from Glenfiddich features a bottle of whisky, accompanied by either whisky nosing glasses or rock glasses, offering a thoughtful touch to elevate one’s whisky experience. This collectible is the ultimate gift for sharing during reunion dinners, family gatherings, and business dinners during the Chinese New Year, helping to build strong relationships. No matter which Glenfiddich gift pack you select or is received, they will provide the perfect companion for your celebrations and moments of togetherness this festive season.

Four Expressions, One Legacy

Each edition appears in vibrant iterations, according to the year of maturity. The refined quartet includes the Glenfiddich 12-Year-Old encased in invigorating shades of green. Radiant and golden in colour, this whisky immediately captivates with its distinctively fresh and fruity nose, highlighted by a delicate hint of ripe pear. On the palate, characteristic sweet and fruity notes shine through, evolving into layers of creamy butterscotch, malt and subtle oak that add depth and complexity. The experience concludes with a long, smooth and mellow finish, leaving a lasting impression that invites another sip.

Next, the Glenfiddich 15-Year-Old captures attention in a box with hues of purple and, within, their family’s tradition of innovation is exemplified. This inimitable expression is created using a technique pioneered by their Malt Master and its warm, spicy flavours are transformed with the alchemy of the Solera Vat, a large oak tin inspired by the sherry bodegas of Spain and Portugal. This whisky is rich with aromas of sweet heather honey and vanilla fudge combined with rich dark fruits, revealing layers of sherry oak, marzipan, cinnamon and ginger, and then finishes with lingering sweetness.

Deep in midnight blue, the 18 Year Old reveals layers of baked apple and elegant oak from select numbered casks.

In gorgeous blue packaging is the Glenfiddich 18-Year-Old, married in individually numbered batches of no more than 150 casks, resulting in a deep, dark gold-coloured whisky. With a rich nose of ripe orchard fruit, baked apple, and robust oak, the taste is a luxurious blend of dried fruit, candy peel, and dates, complemented by elegant oak notes for a warming finish.

Rounding up the quartet is the Glenfiddich Reserva Rum Cask 21-Year-Old in orange, first aged in oak for two decades, then finished in casks used previously to age Cuban rum, which creates a tropical undertone. This is one for fans of bold spirits, offering a complex nose of vanilla sweetness, floral notes, and rich layers of banana, figs, toffee, new leather and oak. The palate starts soft before becoming brisk, vibrant and drying, with bold flavours of pepper, subtle smoke, oak, lime, ginger and spices. Its finish is exceptionally long, warming, dry and spicy.

Say cheers to each other’s health with cries of “Gān bēi”, and make meaningful connections with Glenfiddich this Chinese New Year.
