This Spring season, Tumi is celebrating its half-century by paying homage to the vibrancy, energy and legacy of Peru. From the breathtaking vistas of the Andes and Machu Picchu to lively street markets of the South American nation, the brand’s birthplace provided bountiful inspiration for Tumi’s design team to infuse and inflect its best-selling products with striking new designs and colourways. For instance, the Alpha Bravo Navigation Backpack is now available in Red and Lime Chameleon, while the Nomadic Backpack now comes in Black Onyx—both as vibrant as the natural beauty of Peru.
Tumi’s ever-popular 19 Degree collection of suitcases now includes the 19 Degree Lite range. These unbelievably light suitcases are made with a Tegris shell, and come with a magnesium telescopic handle and streamlined zipper pulls. The new 19 Degree Lite series—also available in new seasonal colours such as Cobalt Blue and Amber—are the brand’s lightest hardside luggage to date, and must be picked up to fully grasp how light they are. Meanwhile, the progenitor 19 Degree series is introducing a new member of the family, the Rolling Trunk, which features a split interior and integrated dividers. The collection also has new seasonal colours such as Lagoon, Lavender, and Iridescent Dusk, a lively hue reminiscent of Andean textiles, futuristic palettes, and gunmetal accents.
Tumi’s specialised series of products for women also sees the launch of new silhouettes. This includes the new Voyageur Evora Mini Hobo as well as the new Georgica Lima Medium Tote. Meanwhile, personalise your Tumi products with Peruvian-inspired bag charms, such as the Charlie Bird Bag Charm, Andi the Alpaca Bag Charm, Apple Cactus Bag Charm, and the Sweet Fruit Bag Charm.
Last, but not least, are a variety of Tumi classics that have been bestsellers over the course of the past five decades (and counting), but now available in special colourways to celebrate the brand’s 50th anniversary. These include the Voyageur Celina Backpack in Black and Gold; the Voyageur Myla Crossbody in Black and Light Gold; the Alpha Tumi Brief Pack in Black; Alpha International Dual Access 4-Wheeled Carry-On in Black; and plenty more you should check out in stores and online.
“For 50 years, Tumi has been focused on our customers and delivering products that make a difference and enhance their travel experience,” Tumi president Andrew Dawson said in a statement. “Whether a day trip to the city or a flight around the world, we aim to perfect every journey. Our strength is our people. We are entrepreneurial and passionate about what we do. We are constantly working to innovate—from technical materials to functional details—and always with our customer in mind. This milestone celebrates our accomplishments, but also sets the stage for the continued evolution of the brand for the next 50 years and beyond.”
