Inside Johnnie Walker’s New Private Blend Experience At The Vault

The newly launched Johnnie Walker Vault gives whisky enthusiasts access to 500 rare whiskies and the expertise of Master Blender Dr. Emma Walker.

Luxury Scotch whisky maker Johnnie Walker has unveiled its exclusive Vault experience, offering whisky connoisseurs the opportunity to create bespoke blends with the company’s master blender, Dr Emma Walker (pictured below), from a selection of 500 rare whiskies housed beneath Edinburgh’s Princes Street.

Johnnie Walker is undoubtedly a pioneer in the world of Scotch whisky, with its iconic blends, global presence, and commitment to craftsmanship. However, the brand has now unveiled its most ambitious luxury platform yet: the Johnnie Walker Vault. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that this exclusive experience., offering private blending sessions with the master blender, is generating significant excitement among whisky connoisseurs worldwide.

The newly launched platform centres around three distinct pillars: bespoke private blends, luxurious experiences, and creative collaborations. “Johnnie Walker Vault is our treasure trove. It’s where I can curate and share our rarest and most exceptional Scotch whiskies, and, from these, create unique blends that sing to my guest and showcase the blending artistry at the heart of Johnnie Walker,” Walker said in a statement. Her private blending sessions take place in a hidden creative ‘atelier’ deep beneath the Johnnie Walker Princes Street megastore in Edinburgh, where she draws from a carefully curated selection of 500 whiskies from rare, aged, and ghost casks.

The exclusive Private Blend experience, starting from £50,000, offers far more than just a bespoke whisky. “Building on more than 200 years of pioneering craftsmanship, Johnnie Walker has redefined quality whisky blending for the modern connoisseur,” said Julie Bramham, managing director of Diageo Luxury Group, in a statement. The package includes a luxurious stay at the glorious Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire (pictured below), Michelin-starred dining, private tours of the invite-only Diageo Archive, and unique Scottish pursuits. Following the experience, guests receive their Private Blend in a crystal decanter handcrafted by artisans from the renowned French luxury house Baccarat.

Looking ahead, Johnnie Walker Vault will also venture into creative collaborations—with plans to partner with visionary artists as well as haute couture fashion artisans—to co-create a limited-edition collection with Dr. Walker this year. “This is an exciting day for luxury Scotch whisky as we officially launch Johnnie Walker Vault to a global audience,” Bramham added, highlighting the brand’s commitment to “transforming luxury spirits through elevated personalisation, unique experiences, and exceptional products”.
