The Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller, an all-new collection from Rolex revealed at Watches & Wonders 2025, is the brand’s take on the luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet. There is a distinct 1970s inspiration in its design, and it does indeed reinterpret two particular historical timepieces—a 1969 Rolex Quartz, and a 1974 Datejust. The all-new bracelet follows the iconic five-link structure of the famous Jubilee, but has flattened links to visually match the angular case, while the dial sports a laser-cut honeycomb pattern. Other elements, such as the cyclops lens over the date window and the fluted bezel, mark it as distinctly Rolex.
The Land-Dweller is also a platform for a substantial movement innovation. Calibre 7135 is a new self-winding movement with a revolutionary regulating system. The new Dynapulse escapement is silicon-based, making it strongly resistant to magnetism, and is exceptionally efficient, while the new oscillator has a ceramic balance staff and redesigned Syloxi hairspring. These attributes confer calibre 7135 with a 5Hz beat rate and a power reserve of 66 hours.
The Land-Dweller is available in two sizes and three materials, including in 950 platinum with a 40mm diameter (pictured, RM275,400).
