Skillet KL Brings The Fun And Flavour In Its Latest Seasonal Menu

Discover classics that come with a twist and interesting combinations that will leave you in awe.

At the mention of summer, the mind drifts to vibrant colours and garden-fresh produce. Beyond the rear grounds, thoughts also travel to the rugged coastline, laden with the ocean’s bounty. In Skillet KL’s refreshed seasonal menu, the team presents dishes that combine the essence of blooming orchards and seaside markets to truly capture what fun is like in the sun.

Amuse Bouche: Mille-feuille with sesame chicken and corn, razor clam with celtuce and cucumber, and yam with beef short-ribs.

Although chefs often reach for cucumbers in summer dishes, Skillet KL surprises guests with a hamachi starter, paired with ponzu and a unique fruit known as the cucamelon. It looks like a mini watermelon on the outside, but a cucumber on the inside. With its light citrusy flavour, it reflects the brightness of the ponzu, perfectly balancing the richness of the hamachi.

The menu continues with a classic Ratatouille En Fleur, featuring courgettes and bell peppers. But what elevates this French staple to the next level is the cold drink that accompanies it, made using clarified tomato juice infused with black tea, giving it a crisp yet smoky depth. Each bite is best enjoyed with a sip of the drink to fully appreciate the layers of flavours in this dish.

Inspired by the relaxing lifestyle and food festivals of European summer, Skillet KL presents another classic from the northwest of Spain. Typically served with potatoes and pimentón, the Galician-style octopus is given a local twist, this time having breadfruit in place of potatoes. Although, both ingredients are similar texturally, the breadfruit adds a hint of nuttiness, giving the dish a sense of both the familiar and the new.

For dessert, guests have the option of choosing between Summer Breeze—a yuzu and mascarpone cheese parfait with apricot sorbet—and Texture of Chocolate—made with Saint-Domingue 70 per cent dark chocolate and jackfruit. The former wraps up the course with a graceful finish, sweet and satisfying. The latter is ever so adventurous, crafted for those who crave one last surprise before calling it a night.
