A fortnight after opening its doors, Breguet’s boutique at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur played host to an intimate evening curated for watch aficionados and a select circle of Robb Report Malaysia’s guests. Defined by elegant interiors and sculptural, mouth-blown light fixtures, the boutique proved an apt and atmospheric setting for a private showcase of the Swiss house’s latest novelties and limited editions.

The event followed a landmark moment for the watchmaker: Breguet’s triumph at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, where it was awarded the coveted Aiguille d’Or for the Classique Souscription 2025. Widely regarded as the highest honour in watchmaking, the prize recognises the single timepiece that best represents the industry as a whole—an accolade that further cements Breguet’s standing at the pinnacle of haute horlogerie.

Unveiled as the first chapter in the brand’s 250th anniversary collection, the Classique Souscription 2025 pays homage to the visionary legacy of founder Abraham-Louis Breguet. The watch took pride of place during the evening’s presentation, alongside other anniversary novelties, including the Classique Phase de Lune 7235, the Type XX Chronographe 2075, and the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035—each a contemporary interpretation of the codes and complications that have defined the house for two and a half centuries.

As guests explored the collection, flutes of Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé and French Bloom’s non-alcoholic sparkling wine circulated the room, lending a further note of refinement to an already polished affair. The evening concluded with a private dinner at nearby Canton Court, where an elegant Cantonese menu awaited. Highlights included Boston lobster prepared two ways, double-boiled fish maw with Iberico ham, delicately poached coral trout, and braised dried abalone with sea cucumber—a fitting culinary coda to an evening that celebrated precision, heritage, and enduring craftsmanship.
