Introducing The Streamliner Pandamonium – MB&F And H. Moser’s Fun And Fabulous Timepiece

Recently at Geneva Watch Days, H. Moser & Cie and MB&F held a press conference to reveal their highly anticipated submission to this year’s Only Watch charity auction, and it was well worth the wait. The duo’s new Streamliner Pandamonium showcases the wonder of the minute repeater complication right on the dial, and at the centre of the gongs is a miniature DJing panda.

For the base, they decided on Moser’s Streamliner in steel, to maximize the sound quality of the minute repeater the two brands set out to create. For Maximilian Büsser of MB&F, the minute repeater has long been an object of fascination. Early in his journey into watches, he was mesmerised by this complication but always hated how it was concealed on the reverse of the watch, which prevents you from enjoying the beautiful choreography of the gongs in tandem with the music. He knew one day he would create a minute repeater on the dial, and today, his dreams have come true using his signature flying balance wheel and double hairspring taken from the Legacy Machine range.

In addition to the watch itself, the pair created a set of 30 sculptures, the size of a desk clock, of the model’s signature DJ panda. The first was awarded to a lucky member of today’s press conference, chosen at random. One will go to the winning bidder of the Streamliner Pandamonium at this year’s Only Watch charity auction in November. Another was sold today at Geneva Watch Days’ charity auction benefitting the Ecole d’Horlogerie de Genève hosted by Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo and went for a whopping CHF 26,000 (approximately RM137,000). The remaining sculptures will be available for purchase if you would like a small piece of this historical watch.
