On a calm and easy Thursday morning, the roar of Ferrari engines filled the air as a total of 27 vehicles bearing the Prancing Horse badge arrived at PickleX in Shah Alam. Here, members of the Ferrari Owners’ Club Malaysia (FOCM) settled in for breakfast at the gaily decked Seesaw café, the start of a three-day adventure that would span a round-trip of more than 400km, along the West Coast Expressway.

Following breakfast of fresh pastries and the perennial favourite, nasi lemak, the convoy made its run towards Lumut, cruising through paddy fields, coastal landscapes, and under blue skies. Upon reaching the Marina Island jetty complex, a quartet of speedboats were at the ready to transfer the FOCM members to Pangkor Laut Resort—a Malaysian hospitality icon since the 1990s, located on an outlying private island composed of over two-million-year-old virgin rainforests.

Here, on the island, the group enjoyed a plethora of dining options, from an array of local dishes at the welcome lunch to international fare and a live pasta station. The same evening brought a Hawaiian-themed beachside barbecue experience with a live band in attendance, and members and spouses dressed in their Hawaiian best.

Also in store for libation was the Hennessy X.X.O cognac, first created more than 150 years ago by Master Blender Emile Filioux using eaux-de-vie of great potential. In 2018, this unique cognac was reborn under Hennessy’s seventh-generation Master Blender Yann Filioux and, for the first time in late 2025, is available in Malaysia beyond its usual travel retail locations. The drink offers a spicy complexity, with notes of bitter orange, fresh grated nutmeg, dried peppermint leaf, and liquorice stick—a perfect combination to the sizzling surf and turf prepared by the Pangkor Laut Resort culinary team.

That evening would end on a high note, with the best-dressed Hawaiian-themed couple Eric Lee and Serena Law walking away with a grand prize of a two-night stay at a premier ocean view room in Halekulani Okinawa, located in the Onna Village amid the breathtaking scenery of the Kaigan Quasi-National Park.

The next day would commence with a series of nature walks, as well as tennis and pickleball games, while the afternoon brought relaxation at Samudra, the resort’s multi-purpose venue. Here, FOCM members enjoyed Zebrew craft beers and a range of Aladino cigars before the always festive Pasar Malam Night dinner at Feast Village. The latter encompasses all manner of local delicacies, from Ipoh’s own Canning Garden night market, including chicken rice, murtabak, char koay teow, and Nasi Melayu, making for a delicious end to two days of feasting, camaraderie, and utter relaxation.
