merry making
Glashütte Original Singapore culminated 2017 with a casual get-together with 22 collectors and their companions to celebrate Christmas. Indulging in some merry-making, the evening’s gathering at Jekyll & Hyde introduced the collectors to the history of cocktails, and also allowed them to step into the bar to create their own – one of which is a Glashütte Original recipe which ties in with this year’s Baselworld piece, the Senator Chronograph Panorama Date in stainless steel.
Named “Into the Blue”, the choice of blue curacao in the cocktail recipe was inspired by the generous use of luminous blue Super-LumiNova on key indicators of the Senator Chronograph Panorama Date – the white gold hour, minute and stop seconds hands, Roman numerals at 6 and 12 o’clock, as well as hour indexes. Giving off a sense of casual elegance, the deep black dial of 42mm piece offers clear contrast with polished hands and numerous white details. Utilising the integrated Calibre 37 chronograph movement, complete with flyback mechanism as well as a 12-hour chronograph counter, the timepiece is perfectly tuned and easy to operate, with a 70 hour power reserve when fully wound.
