Furniture maison Poltrona Frau, outfitter of Ferrari interiors since the Eighties, has collaborated with the Italian supercar manufacturer for a decidedly different kind of chair on which to park yourself. Simply titled, the Cockpit.
Two versions are proposed, the President (RM55,000) and the Executive (RM41,250) — both with reclining base and seat. The former is inspired by the ergonomics of competitive racing “bucket” seats with similar levels of comfort and as a result, a more managerial impression from its high backrest.
For more flexibility and freedom of movement, the latter is deliberately designed with a lower backrest.
Ferrari’s heritage and brand DNA can be found within the finer details of the cockpit, notably in material use and operating mechanisms. The external shell of the chair is moulded from carbon or alutex, while the swivel device at its base mirrors a Ferrari steering wheel’s mechanical elements.
Leather upholstery was chosen by the Ferrari Design Centre as a nod to the three Tailor-Made service lines: Scuderia, Classica and Inedita.
