Fritz Hansen’s new accessories collection

Unveiled at this year’s Salone del Mobile, Objects is the new accessory line from Denmark’s Republic of Fritz Hansen. Consisting of twelve initial designs, contributed by renowned Danish and international designers, the objects that form Objects are disparate yet arresting, playful yet fascinating, the perfect beginning to a line that Fritz Hansen hopes to expand and evolve over time.

From long-time collaborator Jaime Hayon is a tealight, two candleholders and a duo of vases – the tealight and candleholders spring from the same geometric well, done in lacquered brass to ensure a lasting warm sheen, while the ikebana vase cleverly includes a freestanding brass plate designed to highlight the form of each individual flower stem. Wednesday Architecture fashioned sculptural stack trays out of lacquered ash timber (the same material as the Ant and Series 7 chairs) inspired by Nordic bentwood boxes and the distinctive Shaker design style. Danish pair Studio Roso designed a mirror with a magical, rainbow-like sheen, while Arne Jacobsen’s Vertigo Cushion is updated in wool of stately grey or ravishing burgundy.

The Republic of Fritz Hansen Objects collection is available in Malaysia at XTRA Furniture.
