Berjaya Air Debuts Its First All-Business Class ATR 72-600
This ATR 72-600 aircraft is a major step forward for regional airline Berjaya Air, and is equipped with ATR’s all-new, all-business class HighLine layout.
Earlier this year, Berjaya Air unveiled its first all-business class aircraft, an ATR 72-600 that serves as a major milestone for the airline’s regional travel offerings. It is also the first aircraft in the world outfitted with ATR’s HighLine configuration, which brings new levels of luxury and exclusivity to the popular turboprop short-haul carrier.
The fully bespoke cabin has 26 individual seats, arranged in two one-by-one layout columns, giving each passenger unfettered access to both aisle and windows. Lent an additional touch of class by their diamond quilt pattern, the seats are handcrafted by Italian aviation interiors company Geven, and are the widest to ever be fitted to an ATR platform. Tray tables fold elegantly away, while the side console offers generous personal stowage in a refined, wood-panelled format. Overhead bins are concealed behind sleek panels, and when closed, seem to back away from the ceiling. This gives the cabin an extra sense of height and spaciousness, and allows natural light to flood through.
The aircraft, which will be based out of Subang’s Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, is intended to provide air travel routes that will serve the Berjaya Group’s extensive selection of hotels and resorts—destinations such as Koh Samui, Redang, and Langkawi. It is also available for charter operations, providing an extra note of opulence for occasions such as corporate retreats, private escapes, or wedding parties.
