Bugatti Divo – the hypercar to end all hypercars

Even more rarefied than the Chiron, the French supercar manufacturer treats us a glimpse of the Divo

The Bugatti Divo is on the way, and while performance details are scant ahead of its full reveal in August, we can tell it will cost €5 million (RM23.75 million).

The Bugatti Divo makes the Bugatti Chiron, which has a base price tag of €2.4 million (RM11.4 million) seem almost a bargain in comparison. And just 40 Bugatti Divos will be built, against the positively mass-market number of 500 Chirons.

Named for Alberto Divo, who won the Targa Florio twice in 1928 and 1929 driving for Bugatti, his automotive namesake is “light and nimble and will boast enormous downforce and g-forces”, says the carmaker.

The Bugatti Divo is also meant to revive the carmaker’s coachbuilding tradition, which implies the car will be a rebodied Chiron. In keeping with the car’s extreme nature, expect dramatic styling cues like oversized aerodynamic aids, along with plenty of carbon fibre and Alcantara, as hinted at in the teaser image.

It’s still too early to speculate if the Bugatti Divo will follow in the footsteps of the Bugatti Chiron Sport and keep the base car’s 1,500bhp output, but our hunch is Bugatti will give its hyper-hypercar more power.

After all, with an asking price twice that a Bugatti Chiron and production numbers over 90 per cent lower, we think prospective buyers will accept no less.
