Johor Motorsports Racing (JMR) is a team of world-class drivers with royal pedigrees, proudly backed by the state’s royal family. Meanwhile, automotive protection film company XPEL sets the gold standard in the industry, widely seen on vehicles in numerous teams and organisations in the racing world, including the British GT and Porsche Cup. Therefore, a union is only natural, and JMR has officially announced a new partnership with XPEL, where elite motorsport ambition meets technology engineered to withstand the toughest racing conditions.

XPEL expanded its commitment from a successful initial collaboration to a full-season premier partnership for 2026, following JMR’s stunning podium result at the Suzuka 1000 endurance race in September.

XPEL’s industry-leading self-healing automotive protection film defends vehicles from the inside out, including its paint, interior, headlights, and windshield. Its exceptional clarity keeps rides looking pristine for the flashbulbs on the circuit, ensuring that the vibrant livery of the sponsors remains vivid. Most importantly, it becomes the first line of defence for the race cars and drivers, shielding them from stone chips, road debris, and the inevitable wear and tear of the most challenging circuit racing conditions. Plus, their surfaces are self-healing (yes, you read that right), allowing light scratches to disappear when exposed to heat from the sun or warm water.

JMR’s president and principal driver, Tunku Panglima Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim (HH Prince Jefri Ibrahim), expressed his excitement. “I’ve been using XPEL products on all my cars for several years now, so I’m truly delighted to officially partner with them for the new season,” he said. “XPEL’s protection solutions are especially important for us in long endurance races, where the car has to perform and look its best from start to finish. XPEL is a brand that shares our commitment to excellence, and we look forward to working closely together in our pursuit of perfection on and off the track.”

Last year was a momentous one for JMR, starting with a memorable debut win for the Corvette Z06 GT3.R at the Sepang round of the GT World Challenge. Multiple podiums and victories saw Prince Jefri Ibrahim crowned the vice champion, while the team also secured a podium at the Suzuka 1000 and successfully completed the 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium. JMR is gearing up for another exciting year of races this year with Meguiar’s Bathurst 12-Hour, CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, and Suzuka 1000 on the calendar, where XPEL’s advanced protection solutions will be put to the test across some of the world’s most demanding endurance racing stages.
