The Kayak 1, from New Zealand designers Jamie McLellan and Andy Jacobs, is a one-person beauty made from carbon fibre, teak, and ash. It’s nearly 3.6 metres in length and just 0.8m wide, weighing only 18.1kg, making it easy to move across the water and to transport across land. Each ‘King of Kayaks’ is built to order in New Zealand and requires 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. Optional accessories include a matching paddle, seat pads, a protective cover, and storage cradles.
