Amanoi has unveiled two Spa Houses, the first of their kind for Aman. The brand’s meditative outpost in Vietnam is hugged by rolling hills, overlooking picturesque Vinh Hy Bay, situated in Núi Chúa National Park. Since its launch in 2013, Amanoi has perfectly encapsulated the essence of Aman where peace, intimacy, privacy and sense of place take centre stage. The unveiling of the Spa Houses mark a milestone for Amanoi and complement the recent launch of Aman Wellness, which saw the dual introduction of Group Wellness Retreats and Individual Immersions across the collection in 2016.
Neighbouring the 11,000 square metre spa which overlooks a calming lake strewn with lotus flowers, the two Spa Houses offer utmost privacy, with one, Thuy Lien Spa House (meaning Lotus Spa House in Vietnamese) featuring tranquil and unobscured views of the lake and the other, An Son Spa House (Peaceful Mountain Spa House) providing a serene vista of the national park.
The Spa Houses mimic the refined architectural language of Amanoi, and with their clean lines, choice of materials and living roofs, blend seamlessly into their magnificent natural surroundings. Setting a benchmark for the brand, this concept provides guests with an entirely new spa experience indulging them with two specialist spa therapists and comprehensive private spa facilities in the convenience of their own pavilion. Each Spa House encompasses a spacious double treatment room adorned with a mural from Vietnamese artist Mr. Bui Huu Hung, Jacuzzi, and steam room complemented by an ice-fountain and cold plunge pool. The outdoor infinity pool, perched on a relaxation deck, provides an ideal setting for escapism and reflection, whilst either a hammam or banya round off the thermal facilities.
In addition to the wellness amenities, the Spa Houses can accommodate between two and four guests in the pavilions’ beautifully appointed bedroom and living areas, providing the option of residing overnight for a fully immersive experience. The two Spa Houses are similar in design and offer the same exclusive spa experience, yet their choice of thermal facilities and vistas differ. True to its name, Thuy Lien Spa House overlooks the lotus lake and inspired by the vista, features a hammam at the core of its facilities, whilst the An Son Spa House enjoys views of the national park and features a wooden-clad banya.
An extensive spa menu including specialised massage techniques and treatments such as Watsu, Reiki, craniosacral therapy, acupressure, reflexology and Chi Nei Tsang can be fully tailored, as well as therapies in two categories, Bodywork and Energywork, which will also be available at both houses. Bodywork therapies are instructor led and include yoga and Pilates sessions, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, pranayama breathing, and meditation, whilst the Energywork sessions include a range of private fitness classes such as kickboxing, TRX suspension training, circuit training, boot camp training, manual holistic stretching and core sessions.
To coincide with the launch of the Spa Houses, Amanoi has also introduced three Individual Wellness Immersions which can be experienced in situ and are available all year round. The Eastern Approaches to Weight Management immersion will aim to remove dietary, health and lifestyle barriers for those trying to accomplish weight loss, whilst the Movement, Mindfulness & Stress Control immersion combines practices and therapies that reduce external stimuli to bring about a renewed internal focus for those with high stress lifestyles. Finally, the Longevity, Rejuvenation & Detoxification immersion will aim to reduce toxic accumulations and the physiological hurdles caused by exposure to a modern environment.
According to Eastern Medicine practices, weight gain is a consequence of energy and blood deficiency which results in the trapping of toxins between and within the organs, preventing the flow of life-energy (Qi) through the meridians. The Eastern Approach to Weight Management immersion is designed to reduce these blockages and subsequent physiological inflammation, promoting an internal environment conducive to self-healing. The aim is to remove the barriers faced with weight loss whilst developing self-awareness with movement, lifestyle and nutrition advice. Raw, liquid and cooked health and wellness menus are personalised to individual needs and complemented by one specialist movement session, one specialist spa session and a daily spa treatment per day.
The Movement, Mindfulness & Stress Control immersion combines therapies and practices that reduce external stimuli to bring a renewed internal focus and a heightened connection with oneself. Guided meditation, Tai Chi, Qi Gong and yoga are combined with therapies such as craniosacral therapy, reconnective healing, Reiki and mind training which encourage stillness and inner healing as well as purification and cleansing rituals and massage treatments that soothe the central nervous system. In addition to three specialist sessions per day, daily spa treatments and an evening group class, guests can enjoy a health and wellness nutritional programme designed to relieve physiological systems of stress and encourage flow through energetic alignment.
For those seeking a positive lifestyle change with meaningful long-term health benefits, the Longevity, Rejuvenation & Detoxification Immersion eases the way by promoting an internal homeostatic environment adapting to self-healing. Designed to uncover hidden health stressors and provide the antidotes, this immersion will remove or reduce toxic accumulations and the physiological hurdles faced by those with high stress lifestyles and potentially detrimental health practices. Menus draw on Eastern philosophy and gentle specialist movement sessions are aligned with energetic harmonisation. The daily specialist spa treatments focus on clearing toxins, promoting circulation and supporting immune and lymphatic functioning.
The carefully calibrated programmes, which last between three to ten days, aim to gently steer participants onto a new path – whether they seek to shift unwanted weight, renew focus and reduce stress or kick start a health plan for the future. They will ensure guests achieve palpable results and a deep sense of inner peace and overall wellbeing, for a healthier life.
The joint launch of the Spa Houses and immersion programmes demonstrate Amanoi’s commitment to providing a tranquil, nurturing, and holistic environment in which guests can cocoon themselves, step away from their everyday lives and allow their minds to quieten and heal from the outside in. Whether booked individually or as a combination, both the Spa Houses and immersions present the idyllic opportunity for individuals to develop healthy and long lasting lifestyles amidst the lush sanctuary that is Amanoi.
