In China, Autumn is synonymous with clear blue skies, bracing weather and freshwater hairy crabs. At this time of the years, the crabs are at their most succulent and delicious, considered a gourmet delicacy in China. Available during the ninth to eleventh months of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, Shanghai restaurant at the JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur once again presents these delicate crustaceans with an exclusive menu featuring hairy crabs flow in from Shanghai.
Available on the a la carte menu are Steamed Shanghainese Meat Dumplings with Hairy Crab Roe, Steamed Shanghainese Hairy Crab, Stir-Fried Fresh Water Shrimps with Hairy Crab Roe, Braised Noodles with Hairy Crab Roe and much more. The hairy crabs served at the restaurant come from the famed Chang Jiang River, where the eggs were laid and hatched, after which the crabs migrated to Lake Tai where the water quality and temperature created the perfect maturation conditions for the crabs.
The Hairy Crab promotion at Shanghai runs through December 2018.
