Year of the Dog Festive Menu at Li Yen, The Ritz-Carlton Kuala Lumpur

Li Yen at The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur has designed sumptuous Lunar New Year feasts by Executive Chinese Chef Leung Kwai Hong to welcome the Year of the Dog, alongside a seasonal selection of delicate Dim Sum ideal. The selection of menus feature traditional delicacies and signature dishes are available for lunch and dinner, showcasing the best of Cantonese fine dining.

The menus begins with Prosperity Yee Sang with an option to include salmon, tuna or abalone that adds a ritzy twist to the traditional festive toss. Guests can select from three menus curated specially for lunch which feature dishes such as the  Deep-Fried Chinese Waxed Meat Roll and Steamed Oyster with Sea Moss from the Dim Sum selection as well as Double-Boiled Chicken Soup with Abalone and Mushroom, Chicken Simmered in Bouillon, Roasted Duck, Deep-Fried Glutinous Rice with Yam and Stir-Fried Prawns with Haw Sauce.

The dinner menus up the ante with delicious favourites that include Braised Soup with Shredded Superior Fish Maw, Bird’s Nest and Minced Chicken, Double-Boiled Abalone Soup with Chicken, Sea Cucumber and Dried Scallop, Steamed Dragon Tiger Grouper with Cordyceps Flower, Deep-Fried Prawns with Salt and Pepper, Braised Pork Knuckle with Dried Oysters and Sea Moss and Barbecued Crispy Suckling Pig. Conclude the meal on a sweet note with a delectable selection of desserts such as the Fried ‘Nian Gao’ with Deep-Fried Sesame Balls, Double-Boiled Red Bean Cream with Glutinous Rice Balls and Double-Boiled Glutinous Rice Balls in Almond Cream.

A traditional favourite on the menu this festive season is the Steamed Clay Pot Rice with Chinese Waxed Meat. Made with Chinese sausages specially flown in from Hong Kong, this dish requires up to 45 minutes to prepare for the flavours of the vegetables, Chinese herbs and meat to infuse into the rice leaving a distinct and rich flavour.

Available from 15 February until 18 February 2018, the lunch set menus are priced from RM1,388 nett per table of 10 persons. The dinner set menus are priced from RN1,888 nett per table of 10 persons. To enjoy the Lunar New Year specialities before 15 February, please give advance notice
