On a recent weekend, over 40 Ferraris – both contemporary and classic – travelled from the Naza Italia Ferrari showroom in Petaling Jaya to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town in Penang. The Ferrari convoy’s purpose: to mark the seven-decade milestone of the storied Maranello automotive brand.

Crowds gathered at all the stops, from the Penang City Hall to the over 200-year-old Fort Cornwallis. Inside these century-old walls, the stage was set for the unveiling of the achingly gorgeous LaFerrari Aperta in Malaysia.

In a private booth, timekeeping partner and Ferrari collaborator Hublot tantalised attendees with their horological anniversary tribute, the Hublot Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph. Also in attendance was Penang’s premier mixologist, Ben Ng of Mish Mash serving up custom cocktails and Mortlach Rare Single Malt Scotch Whisky to accompany the flowing bubbly by Zonin.
