Down south with Robb Report Malaysia and RHB Premier Banking

Southern comforts

On a breezy Thursday afternoon, RHB Premier Banking clients and Robb Report readers gathered at Gallery Wine and Dine in Johor Bahru. From here, they were chauffeured in Wearnes Autohaus’s extensive fleet of BMWs, which included the flagship 7-Series that debuted in Malaysia earlier this year – to Puteri Harbour.

Waiting for them in their berths was the new Lagoon 42 by Simpson Marine as well as Sabrina – a 24m Halverson. The guests were then ushered onboard and enjoyed craft beers, whisky and fruitade as well as Ty Nant mineral water, while cruising about the waterway in the sunset.

Later, back at Gallery Wine and Dine, the guests enjoyed a delicious meal of fresh oysters, curried abalone, Hokkaido scallops with smoked duck and charbroiled lamb cutlets. This was followed by a tasting of The Macallan’s new 12 Year Old Double Cask, 15 Year Old Fine Oak, 18 Year Old Sherry Oak and the resplendent Rare Cask, with the whisky sourced from less than one per cent of all the maturing Spanish and American sherry casks in The Macallan distillery. The evening continued into the night, with guests savouring Cohibas, H Uppman and other Cuban delights to the dulcet sounds of a live band.
