The French Riviera is known for its sun-dappled, relaxed and luxurious ambience, and now a slice of that has arrived in Malaysia. Nizza, newly-opened in Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara, seeks to evoke the same classic European charm with its regional cuisine and Cote d’Azur-inspired design. The blue-and-white floor tiles and colourful ceiling are refined yet casual, while the seating encourages lounging and chatting with friends – though there are more intimate corners.
The show kitchen allows diners to observe chefs preparing their vibrant French-Mediterranean delicacies. The menu is a smorgasbord of European flavours, including dishes from Italy, Spain, and – of course – the south of France.
A nearby ocean would be too much to ask for, but the restaurant is located by the outdoor pool deck, where one can still find deckchairs, umbrellas and beach cabanas. The bar is here, too, should you want to enjoy a few drinks under the open sky.
