Inside Eden Taman Duta, Envisioned By Space Furniture
The residents of Eden Taman Duta will be offered access to Space Furniture’s bespoke design service.
By 2028, Bukit Tunku, Kuala Lumpur, is expected to see the rise of an ultra‑luxury address, described as Jalan Duta’s last residential jewel. Eden Taman Duta is BRDB Developments Sdn Bhd’s (BRDB) latest project, featuring 146 units sized between 5,296 and 19,041 sq ft, and highlighted by 22 exclusive duplex penthouses. Its prestigious location is serene yet surprisingly close to the city—enough to draw you in—but it’s the interiors that might make you stay.
For this residential project, BRDB reunites with Space Furniture, continuing a partnership that began more than a decade ago. “When developing Eden Taman Duta, we decided early on on a partner to bring leading brands available to us to create spaces and interiors that speak to each resident’s personal aesthetic, so that they can bring to life a home that is unique and expresses individuality,” says Yasmin Khan, Deputy CEO of BRDB.

Space Furniture couldn’t be better suited to this project, with a portfolio of more than 30 luxury brands. The multi‑brand retailer also offers a personalised Space Atelier service, supporting clients in executing interiors that speak to their vision, whether that means designing from scratch, working around existing pieces, or sourcing rare vintage treasures.
During the preview of the show unit, David Hartikainen, Space Furniture’s head of interiors and business development, provided a glimpse of what life at Eden Taman Duta could potentially look like. Inside, the entry gallery feels almost meditative, with travertine running from floor to ceiling, crafted to flow harmoniously. The formal area is designed to host, entertain, and truly inhabit the environment. Fabrics play a major role in offering a soft, tactile experience, while infusing a subtle fashion‑forward edge, as showcased in the Florius sofa by Maxalto. “When I look at this fabric, I instantly see the designs of Dior or Coco Chanel,” Hartikainen says.

Eden Taman Duta lives up to its name, with nature serving as the muse behind the selection of several pieces. The Giorgetti Hug armchairs, for example, are stunning sculptures on their own. “They’re carved from Canaletto walnut and are quite unique,” Hartikainen says. “From the back, they look like butterflies.”
The head of interiors also noted the importance of paying attention to the surroundings, as he presented the Acerbis Maxwell table in Matt Alpi green marble. “The colour of the environment offers another way to introduce texture,” he explains. Rather than relying on texture from upholstery, the hard finish of the marble still creates interest without overwhelming the space. “The architectural elements were kept neutral throughout, so here we used colour to add a bit of layering,” he adds.

Moving through the space, there’s a unified consistency that carries from the living spaces to the bedrooms. “It’s about creating one environment in all of the rooms,” says Hartikainen, while singling out the Phillip Jeffries linen wall finishes and Molteni&C wardrobes. Even so, each room comes with a charm of its own, highlighted by statement pieces such as the naïve painting by local artist Fauzul Yusri for the sentimental soul, or Glas Italia’s fluttering Maestrale mirror for those who embrace the unconventional.
Poliform’s Ketch outdoor collection takes pride of place within the master suite balcony, with pieces that were inspired by nautical themes. The effect is most apparent in the flexible backrests of the sofas that resemble sails, providing comfortable back support. “It’s our first time presenting it in the Kuala Lumpur market,” says Hartikainen, who was thrilled that it’s now a part of the ecosystem in Eden Taman Duta.

In the penthouses, the second floor—also known as the pavilion—offers the greatest opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. With expansive glass windows, the pavilion opens to a beautiful al fresco area with a pool and stellar views of the city skyline. Space Furniture envisions the space for hosting, complete with a bar kitchen and cosy lounge areas, demonstrating the potential of the outdoor collection by B&B Italia, one of the world’s most prestigious design houses. “The more you explore its outdoor living, the more you’ll realise that it’s approached like its interior pieces,” Hartikainen shares. “No longer are they just functional furniture for the outdoors. They are also comfortable, luxurious, and high‑quality.”

The pavilion could also be converted into a master suite, where mornings feel like a retreat at a resort, waking up to spectacular views and stepping straight out to the pool. Whatever your choice is, alongside BRDB, Space Furniture is able to make it happen.
