The 6 Best Watches at the World Cup (So Far)

Both players and celebrity spectators are bringing their watch A-game.

This year’s FIFA World Cup has already seen some incredible moments, from Lionel Messi tying the all-time goals record with a thrilling hat trick to Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane each securing a brace in their openers. There have been some dazzling moments off the pitch, too, with the top players and A-list spectators alike showing off their finest timepieces at games across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Pro athletes and luxury watches go hand in hand, so it is not exactly surprising to see some of the hottest new releases at the Cup. Harry Kane flexed Patek’s new anniversary Nautilus, for example, and the piece was only unveiled at Watches and Wonders in April.

Celebs have also been pulling out all the horological stops, with Jay-Z and Travis Scott strapping on rare Audemars Piguets and Kylian Mbappe in a special Hublot Big Bang Original Seddiqi Edition.

Below are the best watches we’ve spotted at the 2026 FIFA World Cup (so far).

Before scoring a pair against Croatia, English striker Harry Kane showed off the newest Patek Philippe Nautilus. Released at Watches and Wonders in April to mark the 50th anniversary of the iconic model, the piece features the porthole-shaped case, rounded octagonal bezel, and horizontally embossed blue dial collectors have come to know and love, but, crucially, no date window. It is offered in both white gold (US$93,774) and platinum (US$112,529), with the latter showcasing the signature diamond at 9 o’clock. We can’t tell exactly which one Kane is wearing, but it appears to be the platinum, which is certainly befitting of a captain.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Patek Philippe Nautilus Haute Joaillerie

Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo may not have shone quite as brightly as expected in the match against DR Congo, but he was certainly sparkling before kick-off with an iced-out Patek Philippe on his wrist. Released at Watches and Wonders in 2025, the high-jewellery timepiece (Ref. 5811/1460G-001) is set with 195 baguette-cut diamonds totalling 13.27 carats and 1,285 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 6.43 carats. Pretty much every part of the white-gold case, bezel, bracelet, and dial is covered with stones, resulting in a hefty retail price of US$721,986.

Rob Lowe went big for the game between the U.S. and Paraguay, sporting the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date. It’s a mouthful, we know. Released in 2023, the 43 mm titanium timepiece isn’t just big in size but in complications, featuring an exceptional automatic rattrapante chronograph (Calibre 4407) with the date and 24-hour GMT functions. All of which is on show thanks to the open-worked dial. It was originally priced at 170,000 Swiss francs.
