Jacob & Co.’s Latest Billionaire Watch Is Adorned With Hundreds of New ‘Angel-Cut’ Diamonds

Jacob & Co. has given its famed Billionaire watch a heavenly upgrade.

The latest iteration—which the New York-based watch and jewellery maker unveiled on Wednesday, roughly 11 years after the original debuted at Baselworld—showcases a new type of “angel-cut” diamond that is designed to shine brighter than traditional stones.

Developed entirely in-house over two years, the patented angel cut is named after founder Jacob Arabo’s wife, Angela, and features 37 precisely calibrated facets that represent their 37 years of marriage. That is significantly fewer facets than many traditional cuts, but each one was carefully positioned to increase shine.

At the centre of each stone lies a distinctive lozenge-shaped table, set within a stepped rectangular outline with cut corners. This signature geometry changes the way light behaves within the diamond, resulting in a crisp, fluid, and unusually dimensional luminous quality. The cut generates a more continuous glow across the diamond’s surface, according to Jacob & Co. It also promotes internal reflection and upward light return, giving the gem more vibrancy and sparkle.

The new Billionaire Double Tourbillon is the first watch in the series—and the world, in fact—adorned with angel-cut stones. Diamonds on the previous Billionaires showcased emerald and Asscher cuts.

“Launching the angel cut within this platform was a deliberate decision,” Jacob & Co. CEO Benjamin Arabov said in a statement. “When you develop a patented cut designed to redefine how a diamond interacts with light, it deserves a stage of equal intensity.”

The 41 mm white-gold case is adorned with 98 angel-cut diamonds totalling just over 51 carats. The dial is encrusted with a further 88 angel-cut gems (11 carats) plus 80 baguette-cut stones (1.14 carats), the white-gold clasp on the blue alligator leather strap is invisibly set with 30 angel-cut stones (15.72 carats), and the crown is topped with one rose-cut diamond (1 carat). In total, the watch is decorated with a dazzling 298 white diamonds totalling approximately 79 carats. Some 216 are angel cut.

In the middle of all that bling, two flying one-minute tourbillons are positioned symmetrically at 12 and 6 o’clock, serving as a sage reminder of Jacob & Co.’s technical prowess. More complex inner workings can be appreciated via the caseback, with the skeletonised architecture of the hand-wound movement on show through the sapphire crystal. With some 460 components, the JCAM50 calibre beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and provides a 72-hour power reserve.

“The Billionaire Double Tourbillon Angel Cut is not simply about rarity or carat weight,” Arabov adds. “It is about invention, precision, symmetry, and the confidence to establish a new standard.”

The watch is limited to just 18 pieces, with price upon request.
