Coffee is serious business. Which is why Deviehl takes the business of coffee cups seriously. Formed by Andreas Bös and Jonathan Strauss, the brand takes a decidedly scientific approach to creating its unique cups with the goal of keeping the delicious blend of java as perfect for as long as possible.

Using their background in luxury watchmaking and precision engineering, Deviehl cups are the product of eighteen months of engineering, yielding a product made up of 25 separate components that is a marvel of insulation technology. The conical shaped cup is chosen based on fluid dynamics, perfect for ensuring maximum formation of crema – the foam on an espresso that is considered coffee’s Holy Grail. The cones are then balanced on a curved stand, lovingly and securing cradling the shot, ensuring no spillage.

The litany of engineering details that went into crafting a Deviehl cup are many, even though not all will appreciate it. What they will appreciate, however, is the care that goes into the presentation of said cup. Deviehl delights in using unconventional materials – exotic woods like Cocobolo or Zebrano, hydrophobic leather, ancient marble, carbon fibre and even its own patented alloy, Deviehlium – applied with nanotechnology coating expertise. Its dedication to the perfect cup is admirable, so don’t think of a Deviehl as just another coffee cup, think of it as an artisan vessel for coffee heaven’s mana.
