Chanel unveils its first timepiece for men
The most versatile and regularly used accessory in any man’s arsenal is his watch – important not only for timekeeping but also as the final, most delicate touch to an outfit. Monsieur de Chanel is the French maison’s first timepiece dedicated solely to men, featuring the house’s first in-house mechanism, Calibre 1: a manual- winding mechanical movement with instant jumping hour and minute retrograde.
The handsome 40mm case makes its presence known in 18-carat beige gold and is a solid 10.4mm thick. Monsieur de Chanel is water resistant to 30m and has an impressive three-day power reserve. Chanel’s first men’s watch is limited to 150 pieces in white gold (US$36,000, RM141,000) and 150 pieces in beige gold (US$34,500/RM135,000).
The only danger of a man wearing a Chanel watch is the threat of it being stolen by his better half.
