The Smiths
At Coppersmith, perched atop the Kuala Lumpur skyline, its moniker manifests itself as the main design theme, notably the decor and cool metallic instruments. Copper is the material of choice, from the Tom Dixon lighting fixtures and furniture accents down to the cocktail straws.
The cocktail menu is a balance of Coppersmith originals and unique takes on the classics, six of each. Dutch mixology outfit Cocktail Professor was behind each creation, in some instances collaborating with Troika Sky Dining’s chef de cuisine Ivan Ong to for an edible complement to the drinks.
The Smith’s Daughter (RM42++), for one, is a vermouth and mezcal rhapsody with salted grapefruit syrup garnished with a cutting of salted kumquat fruit leather. The Aviation (RM44++), a cocktail celebrating its centenary this year, adds a digestible violet airplane on the rim and features clitoria flower and lavender-infused homemade crème de violette.
For those who prefer their drinks neat, Coppersmith offers a selection of bourbons, tequilas, whiskeys, mezcals, gins, rums and vodkas as well. Of note among the single malts is The Balvenie Double Wood 12 Yrs (RM45 per serving) and the Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt (RM46 per serving). The priciest spirit is Jose Cuervo’s ‘Rsv Familia’ Extra Añejo (RM58) while the premium vodka Chase English Potato is a close second (RM52).
This stylish artisanal cocktail bar operates from 5pm to 1am all week, at Level 23a of Troika Sky Dining at the The Troika, Persiaran KLCC.
