All aboard!
As the coconut trees and paddy fields rush by, it is easy to imagine being cast back a hundred odd years or so to the colonial era of South-east Asia on Belmond’s Eastern & Oriental Express. This October, retracing the steps (and tracks) of luxury colonial train travel gets a little bit more special with chef Luke Mangan’s collaboration with the Eastern & Oriental Express, Asia.
A special one-off journey will depart Singapore 28 October 2016, heading up to Thailand through Malaysia over three days and two nights. As the train rumbles its way through the tropical green, Eastern & Oriental Express’ Executive Chef Yannis Martineau and Australia’s Luke Mangan will be keeping busy. Mangan will first lead guests on an exotic food market tour before boarding the train, where he will serve up his signature dishes from the galley kitchens to the elegant dining car. On the second day, Mangan will host a special signing of his latest book ‘Salt Grill, Fine Dining for the whole family’.
Prices for this special package start from US$2,820 (RM11,318) based on two person sharing a Pullman cabin and includes all table d’hote meals. For more information, visit Eastern & Oriental Express
