A magical Mediterranean marvel
The name will sound familiar, but the setting new. The Il Riccio brand, Michelin-starred for its refined take on Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, journeys from Capri in Italy to the Bodrum Peninsula in Turkey, morphing into a seaside hotel and restaurant on the shores of the Aegean sea.
The white-and-blue motif, a typical colour palette of the Mediterranean, has travelled with it, permeating every one of the hotel’s ten rooms and suites, as well as public areas. The bleached white walls harmonise with blue wooden tables, furnishings and hand-painted majolica tiles, mirroring the sea seamlessly. Expansive patios and terraces kiss the coastline of the glorious Cennet Koyu (Turkish for Paradise Bay), with a private harbour allowing access to the azure waters and beyond.
Of course, the Il Riccio name is linked with food, and the menu from Il Riccio at The Capri Palace Hotel in Anacapri is replicated here to the same high standard. The focus is on fresh seafood done Italian style, from hearty chunks of seared tuna and plump fresh oysters to a robust seafood risotto and a nourishing seafood vongole. The restaurant replicates the same white-and-blue motif, down to the crockery, providing a visual link to the beautiful natural surroundings that makes the dining experience here magical.
